Cryptobriefing की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार दोनों नेता G7 summit के दौरान उन technical और sectoral disputes को quietly resolve कर रहे थे जो India-UK Free Trade Agreement को implement होने से रोक रहे थे। Hot mic ने वह conversation catch की और अगले दिन British High Commissioner ने confirm किया।

Wikipedia के अनुसार — India-EU FTA 27 January 2026 को Hyderabad House, New Delhi में sign हुआ। Narendra Modi, Ursula von der Leyen और António Costa ने sign किए।
Ursula von der Leyen ने कहा — "Mother of all deals। हमने 2 billion लोगों का free trade zone बनाया।"
Modi ने कहा — "यह India और EU के लिए बड़े अवसर लाएगा।"
यानी — 2025-26 में India ने UK और EU दोनों से FTA sign किए। यह India की trade diplomacy का सबसे productive दौर है।

2022 में Boris Johnson ने launch किया। 2024 में Starmer ने resume किया। 2025 में signed हुआ। 2026 में G7 के एक hot mic ने implementation की अड़चनें हटाईं। और 15 जुलाई 2026 से — यह deal लागू होगी।
UK के House of Commons Business and Trade Committee ने इसे "UK's most economically significant bilateral free trade agreement since leaving the European Union" कहा।
Ministry of Commerce and Industry के अनुसार India के 90.2% exports to UK duty-free हो जाएंगे — और deal का लक्ष्य 2030 तक bilateral trade double करना है।
India एक साथ UK और EU — दोनों के साथ FTA में है। UAE, Australia के साथ पहले से deal है। US के साथ negotiations चल रही हैं।
